It's been a while since we've heard anything regarding Samsung's next flagship tablet, but if you're waiting for a Galaxy Tab worthy of replacing your laptop, you're in luck because the first look of the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra has been revealed Which has a massive display but also has a controversial design change that is surely not going to sit well with some people.

These renders are coming from Onleaks who as you know is one of the most trustable leakers out there. The tablet has a massive 14.6-inch display, that's laptop territory and it's just 5.4mm thick which is ridiculously thin for a tablet.

On the back, you’ll find a dual-lens camera and the usual magnetic strip for docking an S Pen.

There’s also a quad-speaker system, USB-C port, but no headphone jack. Also as you can see, the tablet has a small notch in the display thus becoming the first mainstream tablet to feature a notch.

And that's something not to be proud of especially after the fact that Samsung mocked Apple for the same notch on iPhones. This makes me the question is Samsung aware that they make punch hole displays that avoid a notch design completely.

I don't understand why are they even going with the notch if it doesn't house anything but the front-facing camera? But if we put the notch aside for a second then the Tab S8 Ultra has the thinnest bezels we've seen on any tablet which helps you get more screen real estate without increasing the overall size of the tablet.

Anyway, the other specs of the device include a 11500mAh battery, 120Hz screen, a Snapdragon 895 processor, we still have no idea if they are going to launch an Exynos equivalent.

We also have the first look at the regular Tab S8 and S8+ models and they aren't expected to use the notch. They will instead be subtle evolutions of the existing designs, which tuck the front camera into the bezel.

There's no information about the launch date but you could expect them to launch it alongside the Galaxy S22. Of course, let me know what do you think down in the comments.
